Young John Lewis Matinee & Salon
Sunday, April 12, 2 pm
Mosaic Theater Company at Atlas Performing Arts Center
1333 H Street NE, Washington, DC 20002
Millennium Arts Salon invites the public to join us for a special afternoon matinee of Young John Lewis: Prodigy of Protest, presented in partnership with Mosaic Theater Company. This powerful new musical traces the early life of civil rights icon John Lewis, illuminating the courage, conviction, and community that shaped a lifelong commitment to justice.
Following the performance, guests are invited to remain for a panel discussion featuring Dr. Janell Blackmon-Pryor (moderator), Dr. Elka Stevens, and Dr. Nina Angela Mercer—three dynamic scholars whose work spans visual art, costume design, and theater. Together, they will engage in a thoughtful dialogue connecting their disciplines to the themes of the production, offering deeper insight into the artistic and cultural resonances of the work.
After the panel, Millennium Arts Salon members and Mosaic special guests are warmly invited to continue the conversation at an exclusive reception at a nearby restaurant.
We look forward to sharing this meaningful and engaging afternoon with you.
